Robby Ogilvie is a Scottish photographic artist exploring perception, place and our relationship with the environments we inhabit. His practice moves between conceptual and post documentary photography, working across digital, analogue and mobile formats, with a focus on moments when the everyday begins to feel unfamiliar, unstable or surreal.

[2026] One of the world’s leading photography competitions, the 2026 Sony World Photography Awards received more than 430,000 images from over 200 countries and territories. Colour Divides, photographed in Bo-Kaap, Cape Town, was selected as the winner of the Object category in the Open Competition.

[2026] Established in 2003, the International Photography Awards is a major global competition celebrating professional, emerging and amateur photography, with more than 14,000 entries from 139 countries submitted in 2026. Colour Divides was recognised as an Official Selection in the 23rd edition of the awards.

[2026] Presented by Holt Art Projects and supported by British war correspondent Benjamin Hall, the award celebrates photography as a means of seeing, recording and understanding people, places and events. Two works, Colour Divides and Subway Stories, were shortlisted and subsequently exhibited at Allen Hall Gallery in Norfolk.

Colour Divides was shortlisted in the Urban category and subsequently exhibited as part of the competition’s public exhibition at King’s Cross, London.

[2026] The international URBAN Photo Awards received nearly 20,000 images from around 5,000 photographers worldwide in 2026, exploring contemporary approaches to cities and urban life. Three works — Colour Divides, Subway Stories and Temporary Monument — progressed to the semifinalist stage, with Temporary Monument also selected for exhibition at Trieste Airport.

[2026] The Architecture Photography Awards is an international competition dedicated to photography of the built environment, judged across 23 categories by an international panel of photographers and industry professionals. Spectrum, photographed in Hong Kong, was selected as a finalist in the Stairs category.

[2026] The eighth Minimalist Photography Awards received more than 6,200 images from photographers across 66 countries, celebrating contemporary minimalist photography across 12 categories. COURTS received an Honourable Mention in the Abstract category, while Colour Divides received an Honourable Mention in the Architecture category.

[2025] RED was a global art competition created by i-D and Ray-Ban to celebrate creative interpretations of the colour red, with winning work selected from submissions by artists around the world. Spiral was named a Global Award Winner and was subsequently presented during Art Basel Hong Kong as part of the Ray-Ban RED Residency.
