Two Works Shortlisted for the Benjamin Hall Photography Award

Two photographs, Colour Divides and Subway Stories, were shortlisted for the 2026 Benjamin Hall Photography Award, presented by Holt Art Projects.
Although made in very different cities, the two works share an interest in how everyday environments organise the way we see.
Colour Divides, photographed in Cape Town, uses colour and geometry to draw attention to the social and visual divisions embedded within place. Subway Stories, made in Tokyo, turns towards the compressed visual language of public transport and the fleeting relationships between people, architecture and movement.
Both photographs were subsequently selected for exhibition at Allen Hall Gallery in Glandford, Norfolk.
