The Stillness Between at Future Folklore

Three photographs from my The Stillness Between series were selected for Future Folklore: The Art and Craft of Storytelling, presented by Visual Arts Scotland at the Maclaurin Art Gallery, Rozelle Estate, Ayr.
Future Folklore considered folklore not as something fixed in the past but as a living form of storytelling, continually reshaped through place, community, memory and contemporary experience.
The Stillness Between is a black and white photographic series made on a 1963 Yashica LM Mat using 120 film. Photographed within the Scottish landscape, the work considers nature not simply as scenery but as an active presence, using stillness, duration and the physical process of analogue photography to create a slower relationship with place.
Within Future Folklore, the photographs entered a wider conversation around the stories we inherit, construct and project onto landscapes.
