The Shape of Passage captures a fleeting moment aboard a ferry crossing between Oban and the Isle of Mull, where the movement of the vessel, the surrounding landscape and the shifting light come together in a quiet visual arrangement. The image reflects on the experience of passage, not simply as movement between destinations, but as a moment of suspension between departure and arrival.

Part of Intervals Vol. 01, a photographic project exploring quiet thresholds, pauses and moments of suspension within everyday environments, the image reflects the series’ interest in transitions between spaces and states. Here, the bend in the path becomes both a physical turning point and a moment of visual release.
