INTERVALS VOL.01

£40.00

INTERVALS: Volume One is the first book in Robby’s ongoing series exploring solitude, thresholds and the atmospheres of everyday life. Rather than focusing on spectacle, the photographs dwell on pauses and fragments, such as stairwells, empty seats, walls of colour and shifting horizons, places where perception lingers and belonging can be felt in suspension.

Printed as a 106 page hardback photography book (18 × 22.8 × 12 cm) on silk photographic paper, the edition is designed to give depth and clarity to each image. The larger format and careful binding create a book to be carried, handled and lived with, one that invites the reader to move slowly and dwell with each page. The book also includes an introductory essay written by Robby, offering insight into the thinking behind the series and the ideas that shape the work.

As an independent publisher, Robby is offering INTERVALS: Volume One through pre orders. From 26 September to 10 October pre orders will be collected, after which the order will be sent to the printer. Printing takes five to seven days, making this approach a more economical way of producing the book while keeping it accessible.

About the project: INTERVALS

The project is informed by Henri Cartier Bresson’s decisive moment, but it turns that idea inside out by focusing not on climax but on pause. It resonates with John Berger’s reminder that photographs alter ways of seeing, and with Gaston Bachelard’s sense of intimate spaces as sites of reverie and renewal.

Here, meaning is found not in events but in intervals, the thresholds and silences where perception lingers and experience remains open.
