COURTS [Zine]

£14.00

A study of the basketball courts of Hong Kong, gathered during my time living and teaching there. These places reveal the city through painted circles, straight lines, soft grids and blocks of colour. The courts become their own quiet language, an open geometry that sits between daily movement and stillness.

The zine brings together courts found across rooftops, housing estates and open spaces between towers. Each site feels like a small stage waiting for its players, shaped as much by design as by use. The markings guide the eye, turning ordinary play areas into gentle abstract forms.

Rather than focusing on action, the work lingers in the pauses and traces of presence. The moment before something begins. It reflects my interest in attention, place and the strange clarity that can rise from simple structures.

Printed in a glossy zine format and designed to be held with ease, COURTS invites slow looking, letting geometry, colour and atmosphere carry the experience.

A4 (21 × 29.7 cm), 52 pages.
