The Stillness Between in Whispers in the Shadows, Belgrade

19 January–20 February 2026 · Exhibition · Old Mill, Belgrade

My image, Held Moment, from The Stillness Between was exhibited in Whispers in the Shadows, an international black and white photography exhibition at the Old Mill in Belgrade, Serbia.

The exhibition explored atmosphere, psychological tension and suggestion through monochrome photography, bringing together images concerned with shadows, reflections, thresholds, dreams and memory.

The selected photograph comes from The Stillness Between, a series made using medium format film within the Scottish landscape.

Photographed on a 1963 Yashica LM Mat, the project uses monochrome, slowness and stillness to move away from landscape as spectacle and towards something quieter: the feeling of standing within a place long enough for its atmosphere to become the subject.
